Horribles Parade

Bring your “Horribles” out in costume to our annual parade!  Starts at St. Paul’s Church (55 Main Street, Wickford) Sunday, October 29th at Noon.

This fun and festive children’s parade will end with entertainment and a little candy treat for all the kids.  A Wickford tradition that’s fun for the whole family – including the four legged furry family members!

Smith’s Castle invites you to our ninth annual “What’s it Worth, Wickford” antiques appraisal day at Smith’s Castle, November 4th, 2016, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. The fee for appraisals is $15.00 per item, $10.00 for each additional item. Smith’s Castle members get one item free. Reservations are strongly recommended along with a list of items to be appraised so as to assure a comprehensive appraisal.

Whether you have a handmade quilt that belonged to your great grandmother, an old wooden trunk in the basement, a treasured dinner service, an old toy you played with as a child, or a rocking chair that belonged to your great aunt, come to the Antiques Appraisal Day and discover the value of your family heirlooms with appraiser Daniel Buck Soules.

Mr. Soules, who has been an auctioneer and appraiser for more than 30 years, conducts charity events throughout the U.S. He has also appeared since 1999 as an on air appraiser in decorative arts, silver and collectables on the PBS television program “Antiques Roadshow.” Mr.Soules, formerly of North Kingstown, specializes in 18th, 19th and early 20th century furniture, paintings, Shaker and silver items.

The Castle is located at 55 Richard Smith Dr., North Kingstown, RI, just off Rt. 1, about 1 mile north of Wickford Village and directly across from the State Police Barracks.

New England Quahog Festival

12PM – Sea Creature Parade through Wickford

1230PM-7PM – New England Quahog Festival
at the North Kingstown Town Beach

The day will begin with a Sea Creature parade through downtown Wickford with children + adults dressed as mermaids, pirates, colorful fish, sharks, octopi, jellyfish and other marine life, led by the Extraordinary Rendition Band, Shriners cars and clowns, local dignitaries and more. This is an art parade and everyone is invited to join in.

The parade will end at the beach where
our 2017 Queen of the Sea and her Royal Court will officially welcome everyone to the festival and crown the 2018 Royal Court
for next year’s festival.

At the beach there will be live music + entertainment all day, great food trucks + vendors, a beer garden hosted by Whaler’s Brewing, face painting, games, a touch tank, Newport Jack the pirate and so much more.

Did we mention – it’s at the beach + it’s FREE!

The second annual festival is sponsored by FreshLocalRI.com, and is being produced by RI community members with all proceeds donated to the Town of North Kingstown, earmarked to make improvements at the beach.

Memorial Day Parade

Parade marchers will begin forming at 9 AM at Wilson Park and the parade will start at 10 AM. The parade route will follow West Main, Brown and Phillips Streets through Wickford village and then onto Tower Hill Road (Rte. 1 south) to the Grand Army of the Republic Memorial on the grounds of Elm Grove Cemetery for the concluding ceremonies which are expected to begin at 11 AM.

Music In The Park

Ten Rod Ramblers Cap Summer Music in the Park in Wickford

Please join us in Wickford for the last of the Music in the Park series showcasing the Ten Rod Ramblers.  This highly popular local band plays 60’s 70’s and 80’s music.  Concert takes place Saturday August 27 from 2-4 pm at Updike Park.  This family friendly event is free and open to the public.  Come, bring a chair or blanket and enjoy the beautiful weather, some music and shopping in historic Wickford Village.

All of the music is sponsored by select village merchants and is free and open to the public.
